November 15, 2017, artificial nests for birds listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus were established on the territory of the State Environmental Institution ” The Selyava Preserve of the National Significance”(according to the subprogramme 4, “Conservation and sustainable use of biological and landscape diversity”, of the State Program “Environmental Protection and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources” for 2016-2020, approved by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated March 17, 2016 No. 205). The construction and installation of artificial nests were carried out by the international fund of wildlife support “Krasny Bor” and the publishing house “Riftour” in compliance with the “House for the Eagle” project. Denis Kitel, an experienced ornithologist, Sasha Ivanov, an employee of the Vygonoshchanskoe Preserve, and a group of volunteers took part in the event supervised by the Selyava Preserve director Sergey Maznev. In a few working days twenty nests were built for such birds as the osprey, the white-tailed eagle, the hobby falcon, the serpent eagle, the mergus and the goldeneye. In addition, three houses for forest dormouse were built from the improvised material.
